Job Purpose:
Maintain, repair and fabricate parts and miscellaneous machinery, including, but not limited to, framework, scrap hoppers, safety guards, modifications, feeder wheels, deformers, finger shafts, etc.
Requirements:
Knowledge of tools/equipment required
Must pass certification tests
Responsibilities:
Fabricate all structural framework and modifications to machines.
Assist maintenance on machine repairs and shop projects.
Maintain inventory on stock for metal racks and clean operating environment.

Staff Accountant
Job Purpose and Reporting Structure:
Essex Crane Rental Corp. is a national company with the corporate office located in Buffalo Grove, IL. The position of Staff Accountant will be a key member of the accounting team reporting directly to the Director of Accounting & Finance. The position will prepare and post general ledger entries, reconcile accounts, assist in the preparation of financial statements, assist with local and state tax filings, and other accounting tasks and duties. There will be some treasury and cash analysis functions. Candidates must be able work in a fast pace environment while remaining accurate and detail orientated.
Requirements:
Bachelors degree in Accounting required
2-5 years of Accounting experience
Strong computer skills with emphasis on Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel
Quick learner with the ability to develop proficiency and understanding of our ERP system
Self-starter and creative thinker
Must be resourceful with ability to multi-task and work both independently and as a member of a team
Must have desire to grow along with the position
Ability to meet deadlines
Excellent communication and relationship building skills
Responsibilities:
Develop, administer, generate and distribute weekly, monthly and/or quarterly reports to corporate and executive management
Prepare general ledger reconciliations and analysis
Compile and analyze financial information to prepare entries to general ledger accounts
Assist in the preparation of month end closing and year-end audit
Sales and Use Tax preparation and analysis
Work interactively with Essex Accounting Team and report directly to the Director of Accounting & Finance
Support other Accounting Team functions, including AP, Leasing and R&M Billing.
Interact with personnel at all levels and locations of Essex to obtain and analyze information. Develop and train others on processes and accounting procedures. Answer all inquiries as required via telephone & written communications.
Travel may be required on a minimum basis.

Assistant Service Manager
Description
This position is located in our crane yard south of Houston in Arcola Texas.
Excellent opportunity for a competent equipment person experienced with cranes or heavy equipment, reporting, repair, maintenance, shop and yard order, shipping/receiving, warehousing and inventory control. Must have strong leadership and communication skills. Mechanical and specific crane experience is a plus.
Job Requirements and Responsibilites:
Must have more than 2 years of managerial experience working in the heavy equipment, construction or crane industry.
Must possess superior communication, organizational, management and leadership qualities. Ability to manage, schedule and monitor Field Service Mechanics.
Strong computer skills in MS Office including Excel and Outlook with the ability to learn quickly a customized accounting system that is used for tracking work orders, inventory and purchasing. Daily documentation is required and also completion of all reports and process forms on a daily, weekly and monthly basis.
Hands-on manager with mechanical experience to maintain shop and yard order. Ability to manage, schedule and monitor field and yard mechanics.
Must be customer-focused with experience to handle the needs of our customers in a courteous and professional manner. Effectively process customer questions, queries and problems with direct and quick responsiveness.
Identify and resolve customer complaints and problems. Follows up with customer to assure appropriate action was taken and the issue is resolved to the customers satisfaction.
Team player works cooperatively with other employees, keeping them informed to assure positive customer relations are maintained.
Education And Or Experience
Require high school education
Prefer 2-4 years of college education
More than 2 years of customer service experience

Field Service Representatives
The company is recruiting field mechanics to work in regions throughout the United States which include 1) Southwest 2) Southeast, 3) Mid Atlantic, 4) Northeast, 5) Northwest or Northern California. These regional field service mechanics will be provided with a service truck and be required to carry some of their own tools.
Field Crane Mechanics work on customer sites without assistance with supervision and direction via phone or fax to his supervisor or manager. Mechanics are expected to perform service repair, troubleshooting and inspection on large 100-750+ ton capacity Crawler Cranes.
Job qualifications and experience:
Dependable, with strong problem solving skills and an excellent safety record
Must be a high school graduate or equivalent with secondary mechanical education or training
Ability to meet and pass the CDL medical requirements
Willingness to travel
Prepare work order documentation
Good communication and organization skills
Experience with computers is a plus
Physical job requirements:
Job position is very physical and requires the individual to be able to perform duties and work long hours outdoors in a variety of weather.
Extensive requirement to climb, pull, stretch, twist onto large crawler cranes
Climbing and working at heights of 25 feet with proper tie off and safety equipment
Must be flexible and mobile to work in confined areas and able to stoop, crawl and maneuver in small confined spaces
Distant vision of 20/40 or better in each eye separately and binocular, with or without correction
Repetitive lifting and carrying of 50-75 lbs
May be required on occasion to lift large components and rigging weighing 100-150 lbs and more
Long hours of standing or sitting may be required
Job requires prolonged periods of driving service truck to and from jobsite frequently up to 500 miles per day.
