Essex Crane Rental Orders Models LR 1100 and LR 1200SX from Liebherr-Nenzing Crane Company
Essex Crane Rental Corp the world’s largest lattice boom crawler crane owner has purchased an undisclosed number of Liebherr crawler cranes.
In 2003 Essex Crane Rental placed it’s initial order with Liebherr-Nenzing and began receiving the customized variant of the duty cycle model HS 855 renamed the HS 855SX. According to Essex management these machines have been well received by both Essex customers and Essex’s service and operational personnel. The success of these duty cycle units paved the way for the latest purchase of more mainstream liftcrane machines from Liebherr.
The latest crawler cranes slated for delivery include the LR 1100 a 115 ton liftcrane and a customized variant of the Liebherr model LR 1200. Liebherr Nenzing collaborated on modifications to the LR 1200 to configure the crane more competitively for the North American crane market. The changes include rating related modifications which enhance the cranes capabilities to serve end user requirements for those requiring 250-300 ton class crawler cranes. The new model will be marketed as the LR 1200SX. The LR 1200SX provides excellent lifting capability particularly with long boom and luffing jib configurations. Other outstanding crane features of both the LR 1100 and the LR 1200SX include mobility, high performance, dependability, and speed. Liebherr-Nenzing Crane Company promotes these cranes as having unsurpassed efficiency and operating characteristics that translate into job profitability for contractors.

Liebherr Nenzing will have the first of the above units shipped on display during the open house of their new North American Service Center in Houston. The open house is being held in conjunction with the Specialized Carriers and Riggers Association; Crane and Rigging Meeting being held in Houston from September 21-24.
