New Liebherr LR1300 gives Essex’s Fleet a Boost
Beginning this summer, Essex Crane Rental Corp. will be welcoming a new crawler crane to its fleet, the Liebherr LR1300. The LR1300, 330-ton crawler crane, was recently unveiled at Bauma 2007 in Germany and was the talk of the show. While the market excitement of this crane has led to over 90 units sold, Essex was able to get orders in early to assure 2007 & 2008 delivers.
Essex’s 300-ton fleet has been extremely successful, which currently consists of Manitowoc 2250s. However, the LR1300 will be adding a whole new dimension to that weight class. In 2005, Essex purchased the LR1200SX and customers have been thrilled by the power of the crane and the strength of its luffing jib. The LR1300 will offer the same capabilities, but at the higher weight class. The crane also ships decked to the carbody, which is a significant transportation feature for the bare-rental market.
Essex Crane Rental Corp. has grown steadily over the last 40 years into the world’s largest provider of lattice-boom crawler cranes and attachments. With over 420 cranes and attachments in its fleet, Essex supplies cranes for construction projects related to power generation, petro-chemical, refineries, water treatment & purification, bridges, highways, hospitals, shipbuilding and commercial construction.
