Essex Crane Rental Corp. was recently presented with a .96 experience modification rate (EMR) by the National Council on Compensation Insurance (NCCI).  The NCCI is the largest provider of worker’s compensation and employee injury data and statistics in the nation.  A 1.0 EMR is considered industry average and the .96 indicates that Essex has had fewer workers’ compensation injuries as compared to industry average.

In recent years, Essex has adopted several safety initiatives including a full-time Manager of Environmental, Safety & DOT, and a strong Drug and Alcohol Program random testing and discipline program.  These initiatives along with an Incentive Bonus Program, “Safety Makes Dollars and Sense”, have helped strengthen our commitment to working safely each and every day. 

The new EMR has lead to Essex receiving the Specialized Carriers & Riggers Association 2009 Crane & Rigging Safety Award.  In addition, it was a contributing factor in Essex becoming a Marathon Oil Corporation “Marathon Approved Vendor”.
