2002-08-05 ESSEX ADDS PAIR OF MANITOWOC 2250'S TO FLEET
Date: August 5, 2002

BUFFALO GROVE, IL [August 05, 2002] – Two of the latest additions to Essex Crane Rental Corporation’s extensive nationwide fleet of Manitowoc lattice-boom crawler cranes are a pair of 300 ton Model 2250s.

The two cranes were delivered to Essex early this fall and immediately went to work at a petrochemical project in St. Paul, Minnesota.

Essex’s two newest 2250s were purchased with MAX-ER preparations, 260 feet of main boom and 40 feet of fixed jib. With available boom and jib, the 2250 is capable of being rigged to a maximum of 300 feet with heavy-lift boom, to 330 feet with long-reach boom and to 520 feet with of boom and jib combinations. Adding the MAX-ER 2000 attachment to the 2250 boosts the crane’s capacity to 500 tons. <> The Model 2250 fits well in the Essex fleet, said Bill Aurelius, vice president for Manitowoc distributor, Crane & Shovel Sales Corp. of Cleveland, Ohio - who Essex purchased the two cranes from.

"The 2250 will be an especially productive crane for Essex’s customers because of its versatility when rigged with heavy-lift boom or long-reach boom and because of its 500 ton capacity when the MAX-ER 2000 attachment is used", he said.

Stated Ron Schad, President & CEO of Essex: “Customers are constantly calling for larger cranes and the 2250 fits right into that niche. The new 2250's complement Essex’s offering of Manitowoc's, which includes models 3000, 3900, 3900W, 4000W, 777, 888, 4100W, 999, M-250, and 4600. In addition, Essex also has RINGER, MAX-ER, Luffing Jib, and Tower attachments for the cranes in its fleet".
